As the Mama of three littles I am aware that they are growing. Always.
Sometimes when they wake up from nap, they look older to me. Sometimes I catch them doing something that they couldn't do before. Sometimes I realize they no longer do things that they did just a few days or weeks before.
Those are the everyday, almost imperceptible, times they grow. More a noticing, a realization of time passing.
Then there are the times that a particular rite of passage, a grand beginning, a certain celebration more dramatically reminds me of their growing.
Like a first day in a new pre-school.
And that grand beginning deserves to start out with a Mommy-Munchkin date.
A chocolate milk and iced mocha at Starbucks. With a bagel and cream cheese. And watching the world outside the large picture window.
Marveling at the growing.

almost there
I'm back. Thankfully.
Later this week I might share how I've been spending my month. But for now, I'm just happy to be back with you all my dear readers!
And friends, it is getting closer.
My birthday.
My fortieth birthday.
In anticipation of this day, my husband has created "Forty to 40" and gifting me a small present, surprise, coupon or treat each of the forty days leading up to my birthday.
My husband's a rock star!
This morning it was a pan of fresh-baked brownies.
Another day I had breakfast in bed.
I've gotten kid-created artwork.
Flowers from the garden.
Ice cream in the freezer.
Lucky Charms. (The cereal. I know, so bad for you, but such a good treat!)
Chocolate.
Songs on iTunes.
Bubble bath.
Massage.
Uninterrupted blogging time. Really.
My son asked if we could do that for his birthday next year. Oh, maybe.
Then he wondered if it will be "Eighty to 80" when I turn 80 years old. Eighty, sheesh.
I sure hope so!

Oh hello
Hi.
I'm Claudine.
Nice to meet you.
Oh wait, we've already met?
Oh yes. It's just been awhile.
Please don't think I've forgotten you.
I haven't.
And it won't be much longer until I am back at posting. I promise.
With whipped cream and a cherry on top.
In the meantime, here are some fun, and funny, Instagram moments.
Till later my friends.

this moment {date with munchkin}
A quick note to my readers:
Yes, I've been quiet this week. But all is well, I simply have been checking things off of my to-do list, least of which has been cleaning out the attic and basement, and many other spots that have been calling out for attention for quite some time. I will likely continue to be quiet over the next couple weeks, though I hope to stop by when I can, maybe with just a picture or two. I am wishing you all the chance to slow and savor these summer days -- I know I am trying to! After all, I still have some Summer Daydreams on that list.
All my best,
Claudine
