gladsome: in pictures and words

gladsome.  An amazing weekend.  With even more amazing women.

gladsome in pictures:

gladsome in words:  (from those amazing women themselves)

grounding

calm

surprising

connected

comforting

acceptance

peaceful

rejuvinating

All of that.  And so much more.

Life-changing.

For some in quiet, subtle ways.  For others in loud, profound ways.

It is all good.

'round here

:: a first snow, and snow ball fight while waiting for the bus

:: organizing the hats and gloves and boots for the winter

:: loving our woods as they transform from summer, through fall, and coming into winter

:: pinching myself that we have woods

:: some making for gladsome with Jennifer and Annie

:: checking off the much-to-do list preparing for gladsome

:: planning and making some sweet extras for gladsome, do you see the theme here? Oh the weekend is going to be outrageously good!

:: painting the first room in our house.  On a whim.  Doesn't everyone take on a big project like that three days before a super big weekend art retreat?  Yep, thought so.

The days have been busy, oh so busy.   But good.  And I am grateful to be surrounded by amazing women, great wild creative kids, a supportive family, and a prince of a husband.

this morning, from above

Cup of coffee.

Breakfast.

Sudoku.

Making lunches.

Pre-bus card games.

Banging cake pans.

Homemade jelly.

Reading Dear Abby.

Dirty dishes.

Dead mouse. (Don't ask.)

Finding hats and gloves.

Re-heated coffee.

Miss-matched socks.

Bus stop in those miss-matched socks.

Yogurt on the floor.

Tantrum.

Some mornings are messier, louder, more frantic than others.

{fall} weekending

Fall.  Fall. Fall.  It's all about fall, and discovering this season in a new way in our new home.

Morning walks in the woods, coffee in hand.

Afternoon walks in the woods, wet with rain.

Evening walks in the woods, spotting deer.  Always deer.  (And for the first time wild turkeys!)

A first family clam bake.  A first for our family, not the First Family, cool as that would be.

Organizing the garage.  Hooray!  (And please don't tell my 22 year old self that my 42 year old self gets excited about organizing the garage.)

A bit of laundry.  Always laundry.

Laundry and deer.

And then there is gladsome.  It is soon.  12 days soon.  So details are being attended to here and there, every chance I get.  The women attending are in for a very, very special weekend.  And it is a comfortable knowledge that gladsome is becoming part of my very own fall landscape.

{Weekending with the wonderful Amanda.}
